Elena is a pharmacist and a yogi. She loves to travel and chase the sun, yet also closely follows and lives life by the cycles of the moon. Her functional medicine journey started when she had extreme adult acne, and was consequently diagnosed with PCOS after several rounds of doctors visits and testing. The doctors told her that her only option was to take hormonal birth control and/or topical creams, but she did not accept that this was the only way to treat this condition. After conducting her own extensive research, she used a functional medicine approach to treat the root cause of her PCOS that was causing many unwelcome symptoms, and was able to reverse them. Now, she wants to spread that knowledge and help more women who want to take control of their health and wellness. Fun fact: She collects pebbles from her travels all over the world and uses them to create wire jewelry pendants.
