Dr. Hartzler’s focus areas are functional gastrointestinal disorders, nutritional deficiencies, metabolic conditions, and autoimmune conditions. She also specializes in diabetes management and other chronic disease management using medications and lifestyle modifications. Her passion for functional medicine started with her own health, and her experiences with gut healing. The gut is connected to a host of other symptoms and conditions, she is ready to transform your gut and your health with our root cause approach. She wants to help you transform your life from not feeling well, tired, stressed, and experiencing GI symptoms; to thriving, symptom free and back to yourself!
Dr. Hartzler has developed a passion for functional medicine and treating the underlying causes of disease. She is also a nationally recognized speaker on diabetes and functional medicine. She is currently Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialist (BCACP), and is Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM). In addition to PharmToTable Team, she practices as a clinical pharmacist at Western Medicine Family Physicians in Fairborn, Ohio. There she works via collaborative practice to provide functional medicine services and management of chronic conditions.
She is a graduate of Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy and completed her residency training at Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center. Her functional medicine education has come from a variety of different conferences, educational programs, and clinical experience. She has completed Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) from Institute of Functional Medicine and is currently enrolled in the Fellowship of Anti-Aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine (FAAMFM) with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).
She is the owner of PharmToTable, LLC, and passionate about working as a team to change the landscape of pharmacist provided care.
She married her husband Dustin in 2007, and they currently have two children. PharmToTable Team wouldn’t be possible without his contributions to our website and media. As a family they love traveling and exploring God’s amazing creation. Lately she is loving learning more about photography and photo editing! They also love learning Spanish, their children are enrolled in immersion programs and they hope to do a family immersion abroad in a few years.
Her personal functional medicine journey has included small intestinal bacterial overgrowth(SIBO), fungal/candida overgrowth (SIFO), imbalance gut bacteria, food intolerances, and nutritional deficiencies. Her daughter also experienced imbalanced gut bacteria (which lead to nighttime bedwetting), food intolerances and allergies, and eczema. With functional medicine approaches, the gut imbalances, food intolerances, and eczema were corrected. It’s been a journey over the last 5 years, but she wouldn’t change it for anything, these experiences have shaped her career and allowed her to help more patients achieve true wellness and reverse symptoms.
