Dr. Lake’s professional passion is chronic disease management focusing on diabetes and other metabolic conditions. She believes in optimizing lifestyle to minimize disease burdens. Additionally, she has always focused on streamlining medication use to minimize polypharmacy and the associated side effects of medications. She trusts our bodies are intricately designed to work for us, not against us, and strives to help you find that balance in your health.
Dr. Lake is a graduate of the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy. She completed post-graduate ASHP accredited residency training at Mayo Clinic and the Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is also a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialist (BCACP) and an assistant professor of pharmacy. With a desire to educate others, she has spoken at regional and national conferences on diabetes management and also loves to educate patients about their own health in a one-on-one setting.
ln addition to virtual appointments, she has availability for face-to-face visits in the Rochester, Minnesota area.
She is originally from Minnesota, but spent seven years living in Wyoming where she completed her education as well as post graduate training. She married her Wyomingite husband in 2019, and they soon after found their way to Minnesota. They have two young sons which keep her very active and very happy. The Lake family enjoys spending time outdoors, frequently making trips back to Wyoming to explore the mountains. They also enjoy staying busy with their local church.
She became interested in functional medicine while working in the traditional health care system and so rarely seeing someone become “well” again. She realized how much healthier it is to solve a root cause to a health problem rather than compile more medications. In addition, witnessing the importance of health through her pregnancy and postpartum experiences heightened her interest in caring for the entire well-being of a person.
