For the longest time, I thought the goal was simple: just fall asleep.

I kept thinking if I found the right pill, the right supplement, the right routine, maybe I could finally knock myself out and get the rest I was so desperate for.

And some nights, it worked. I could fall asleep.

But I would still wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning, wide awake.

A lot of the time, it’s your body processing stress load.

During the day, your brain is busy handling everything.

But here’s something most people don’t realize:

Your body is still resting even if you’re not fully asleep.
Lying in a dark room. Breathing slowly.

That means if you have 200 mg (the average energy drink) at 2 PM, you could still have around 100 mg circulating at 7 or 8 PM...
and about 50 mg still active close to midnight.

Even if you can fall asleep, caffeine lingering in your system can:
• Reduce deep sleep
• Increase nighttime wake-ups
• Disrupt REM sleep
• Raise nighttime cortisol

Over time, this creates the cycle:
Poor sleep → more caffeine → higher cortisol → lighter sleep

If you’re working on hormone balance, gut repair, or stress regulation, caffeine timing matters more than you think.

A general guideline:
Many people benefit from a caffeine cutoff between 10 AM and 12 PM, depending on sensitivity and metabolism.

You don’t necessarily need to eliminate caffeine. But you may need to respect the clock.

It might not be what you expect, here’s what low

It might not be what you expect, here’s what lowered my thyroid antibodies (and what didn’t work).

My TRAb snd TSI antibodies were elevated for years. Doctors said there was nothing to do but wait or take methimazole (but I didn’t need methimazole, bc my thyroid levels were in range)
