Dr.Thompson’s journey with functional medicine started with her desire to change from a mind set of using a “pill for every ill” to uncovering the true reason(s) for the health concern. She started applying this new mindset while helping her husband during his personal health journey.
Dr.Thompson received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree in 2006 from the University of Maryland Baltimore. Most of her pharmacy career was spent in ambulatory care and more recently she specialized in patients with complex medical conditions such as cancer, infectious disease and autoimmune disease. Recently, she completed her certification as a nutrition and wellness coach (CNWC) and as a functional medicine practitioner (CFMP).
Jennifer and her husband Kevin live in Naples, FL along with their two sons, Alexander (10) and Christopher (5). They enjoy exploring the beautiful state of FL on their boat and traveling to different baseball stadiums to cheer on their favorite baseball team. Their oldest son keeps them busy with baseball tournaments throughout the state of FL. They enjoy staying active and trying new recipes.
Jennifer is passionate about ensuring her whole family, including her kids, use “food as medicine” and keep their bodies moving. Jennifer believes that health is not something you do, it becomes who you are.
