Play is an important part of overall health and we Play is an important part of overall health and wellness. 

Research suggests that play may encourage flexibility and variability in behavior and adaptation to a changing environment. Some research (specifically studying bears) even suggests that play may contribute to living longer and healthier lives, along with directly contributing to the growth of certain brain regions.

Try adding more play into your life. Think about what you enjoyed as a kid and see if you can bring that joy back into your life.

Throw a ball for your dog.
Splash around in the pool. 
Play hide-and-seek with your kids.
Go for an aimless walk in your favorite park.

These diet and lifestyle recommendations are great These diet and lifestyle recommendations are great for those planning on becoming pregnant or those who are already pregnant or breastfeeding. 

1. Whole-foods diet: eliminate inflammatory oils, sugar, and processed foods and focus on incorporating whole foods like meat, eggs, vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds. 
2. Carbs and fat are important for fertility and milk production for breastfeeding women. Unless you have a medical reason, avoid very-low-carb or low-fat diets. 
3. Eat foods rich in fat-soluble vitamins: liver, grass-fed dairy, cod liver oil
4. Exercise appropriately: too little and too much exercise can affect fertility and pregnancy. 
5. Reduce stress: identify stress-management techniques that work for you and practice those consistently

Other tips: get your sleep (7-9 hours), eat fatty fish and/or supplement omega-3s, eat plenty of calories, consider a prenatal vitamin
